Tom Goodhue

Co-chair of the Workforce and Talent Development Board, Essential Employability Skills Committee

Tom is a graduate of the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.  After graduation he spent twenty-four years in the construction industry, thirteen of which as Vice President and Division Manager of the Architectural Metals Group at McKinstry Company in Seattle.

Tom has several years’ experience as a management trustee for Taft-Hartley pension, health, and training trusts; and served for eleven years as the Executive Director of SMACNA Columbia Chapter.  During that tenure, he was a member of the Oregon Building Congress Board of Directors and was President of the organization when ACE Academy was founded.

He is currently the Executive Director of Oregon ACTE and Oregon Building Congress, both non-profit organizations working towards supporting students’ and career seekers’ personal growth and their successful preparation of entering the workforce.

Charlie Hopewell

Co-chair of the Workforce and Talent Development Board, Workforce Readiness Committee, Oregon CTE Advisory Council

Charlie received his undergraduate degree from University of Oregon in Finance and later went on to receive his MBA from Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management. He has been engaged in manufacturing for his entire career, spending 24 years with Neilsen Manufacturing Inc. in Salem, then transitioned into top line roles in the window and door sector, radio communications, consulting, machining and ending his career here in the area with Jewett Cameron Companies, a publicly traded company, as CEO and now Board Chair. In all of his roles, he oversaw all aspects of the operations from finance to HR. Charlie has been actively engaged in workforce development and CTE/career readiness education throughout his entire career. He now serves on the Workforce Talent and Development Board and is co-chair of the Workforce Readiness Committee. He is also currently co-chair of the Oregon CTE Advisory Council. While Charlie “claims” to be retired, he is also on Atkinson’s Advisory Board, Cascade Employers Board, and his church.
